This year for SWACURH Regional Leadership Conference 2018 we will be conducting 3 different philanthropies: 

 

The first is a canned food drive! But don't worry we understand that traveling with a ton of cans could be a difficult task so we want to give you options:

 

You can collect the cans on YOUR campus and bring them with you to conference where we will donate them to Stillwater's local food pantry called Our Daily bread.

 

OR you can donate to your local food bank. If your institution decides to do this we ask that you take a photo of what you collect and e-mail the photo along with the total number of cans you collected to our Philanthropy Chair Josh Johnsen and CC Karissa Fent, conference co-chair.

Second we'll be decorating beanie hats for children with cancer. Delegates will have the opportunity to decorate them however they want and write a small note to go with it. After conference these will be delivered to the cancer patients at multiple children's hospitals.

 

Beanies, fabric paint, markers and cards will all be provided.

Schools do have the option to bring bring other supplies to decorate hats (i.e patches, ribbon, pins) this is your chance to get creative!

And lastly, we will be making pop can tab bracelets that will be donated to the Oklahoma city zoo as part of their "Recycling is Beautiful" campaign. The zoo will be selling the bracelets and every dollar earned will be going to their wildlife conservation program, to learn more about this program click here. So start collecting those pop can tabs!
